Below you can find various answers to frequently asked questions. These FAQs are divided into three categories: General Information about the company, Job Applicants, and Customer FAQs.
Driver Applicant FAQs
- What is the best way to learn more about driving positions?
You can call any time during normal business hours (after hours we sometimes answer, too!). Call toll-free 844-THE-ZTEAM (844-843-9832). A specially trained member of The Z-Team will answer your call.
A phone call allows us to get to know each other. We will be able to quickly understand your qualifications and the type of position in which you are interested. You can ask specific questions about pay, scheduling, policies, benefits, and any other issue that might be of concern.
- Do I have to come in-person to apply?
The actual paper application is very thorough. You will be asked to list your relevant past employment for the past 10 years and all driving experience you have had. Visiting in-person also gives you a chance to know us and see our facilities. After your application has been approved, you’ll be given a date for a road test. Following that, you will receive a hire date, be given some orientation before going out on the road, then placed with someone for orientation to learn our particular procedures.
- How can I obtain customer login credentials?
A specific customer login is required to allow you to track your shipments in real-time as well as access our document imaging system. To see if your shipments qualify, contact Dave Wetzler during normal eastern time business hours at 717-436-2141 x258.
- Is your mailing address the same as your physical address?
No, these addresses are different. Our physical address is 190 E Industrial Dr and our mailing address is P.O. Box 130. Both are Mifflintown, PA 17059.
- What are your normal dispatch hours?
Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM through 8:00 PM Eastern time. We observe the following six holidays:
New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
- I need load information after normal hours. Who should I call?
We have dispatchers on call evenings, weekends, and holidays. All have remote access to our real-time systems. Call our normal number, 717-436-2141 and select the appropriate prompt. A message will play instructing you to leave a message or “Press 1 to reach the on-call dispatcher.”
- I see your trucks on the road. How do I register a complaint or pay a compliment?
We are very interested in hearing from anyone who observes any unusual behavior regarding our vehicles or drivers–both negative and praiseworthy. Please call and speak directly to our safety director, Geoff Hosband, at 717-436-2141 x227 during normal business hours. Be sure to have the time, place, and tractor or trailer number that you saw and a detailed description of the event.
